Downstairs Cabaret Theatre has three locations:20 Windsor Street (just off East Main Street, diagonally across the street from the Eastman Theatre), 172 West Main Street (approximately one block West of the Hochstein Music School), and 540 East Main Street (near the corner of East Main and Scio).

Cooking with the Calamari Sisters.  Hilarity, failed dishes, and food fights ensue during this "live "broadcast" of a public access cable cooking show hosted by two larger-than-life Italian sisters, Delphine and Carmela Calamari.  The sisters sing and dance their way through preparing four courses of Italian cuisine with such beloved Italian favorites as "Volare," "Come On A My House," "Botcha Me," "Que Sera Sera," "That's Amore," and of course, "Mambo Italiano!"  This particular episode of MANGIA ITALIANO is definitely out of the ordinary because it is Carmela's last day on the show.  With a little help in the kitchen from audience members, the sisters fill 2 hours with hysterical family anecdotes and musical numbers as they try to make it through their final broadcast together in one piece.

 

Marc Salem's MINDGAMES.  A truly funny, thoroughly astonishing display of mind reading and so much more, Marc Salem is a mentalist like you’ve never experienced.  He doesn’t bend spoons, hypnotize you, or predict your future.  But he can tell you what you’re thinking, deduce the serial number on a bill in your wallet, guess the sentence you’ve picked out of a book… and show you how to tap into the power of your own subconscious.  He doesn’t have anything up his sleeve except an amazing ability to understand and control the human mind.  It’s no wonder this engaging, baffling, and thoroughly entertaining foray into mind and matter has been a jaw-dropping hit from Broadway to London’s West End to Sydney’s Opera House... and now Rochester !  Limited engagement - great family entertainment !

 

Swing for Victory.  World premiere – see it before its National Tour !  With inventive four-part vocal arrangements of nearly 60 classic songs by Irving Berlin, the Gershwins, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Rogers & Hart, Dorothy Fields and many more, Swing for Victory tells the story of The Four F’s, Modernaires-style mixed quartet, comprised of Faith, Fran, Frank and…Phil. Set on the eve of V-Day in 1945, The Four F’s embark on a marathon performance to bolster the morale of our nation and our soldiers – particularly “Bravo Company” who are pinned behind enemy lines with only the sound of their radio to keep their spirits alive. Swing for Victory pays homage to “The Greatest Generation” in a big sound, big laughs, light-hearted revue aimed to delight any generation.

 

I GOT THE MUSIC IN ME.  An ultra-electric evening with charismatic entertainer Cindy Miller as you've never experienced before !  A hot Las Vegas-style show featuring great contemporary musical selections and extraordinary impersonations performed with phenomenal energy - great for the entire family !  1 hour 20 minutes, no intermission.
